I heard there's gonna be a new ninja turtles show soon, so I checked out some pics and the toys they have lined up. Now I was a die-hard turtle fan back in the day, in fact I think I might still have a can or two of Chef Boyardee Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Ravioli somewhere in my mom's house.
So I had to try my hand at doing a pic of the turtles and like my last pic I gave no weapons to the turtle in the pic, that way everyone can say it’s their fav, and no gets left out.
for this I wanted to take all the elements from the past versions of the turtles and mix them up.

Gave him some scars on this shell to add a lil
'I’ve been in a fight or two'

Now there is not a lot of variation in the way they've drawn the turtles over all build in the past. So I decided I was gonna have
Him be much smaller in the biceps and much bigger in the forearms and calf’s, by doing that and making his arms longer than say a standard human. this I felt help add to the 'anthropomorphic' part of them, but still playing a lil with proportions.

The 'spots' was a direct ref, to the classic 90' film
(you know the GOOD one, where the ninja turtles got to use weapons and act like flippin' ninja's and hit people)
I remember playing with my secret of the ooze line of turtles and seeing how easy they where to play with and the punishment they could take, being all rubber and not having joints or what not. one of my fav toys ever, so I had to add that lil detail to say thanks

the calf’s I wrapped in the style of their latest new cgi version which will be on TV soon, the only diff between their version and mine is I stayed a "purest" and gave the turtle in the pic 2 toes, while they decided to give them 3.

I know I know it’s not something I should get bend out of shape about but after huffing and puffing at my poor confused girlfriend on how it’s a mockery to the show and their long time fans I have come to one conclusion. some guy/gal somewhere was all "yeah, they got 3 fingers and only 2 toes, we should fix that."

now anyone with a brain could see the 2 toes is a direct reflection of the 'ninja' foot wear of the classic ninja outfit

but the fact that someone involved with the new series was totally ok with the premise of

"teenage anthropomorphic turtles raised in the sewers and trained in the art of the ninja and that each one is named after a renaissance master and they each have a signature weapons so that they may fight crime in nyc"

but couldnt get past the fact that they had more fingers than they do toes.
