The cover for the third and final installment of my LST series, Lucas Star Team Book III: Civil War.
Storyline: Time and space seem to be falling apart faster than before. The original cause should’ve been defeated, so why are people still ending up out of their dimensions and time periods? Ninten is on the case to figure out why in his own Phase Distorter, but a run-in with Lucas leads to the discovery that Claus is still alive. This starts a war between the Guides and what remains of Lucas’ Star Team in a battle for the fate of Claus. Meanwhile, Solid Snake is sent on a mission to figure out why a mysterious army has taken residence on the abandoned Shadow Moses Island, but his mission is jeopardized when multiple people from different dimensions find their way onto the island, leaving him to act as a babysitter for them during his mission. As well, Mae Borowski leads her own team in Possum Springs when a monster named Big Daddy takes up residence in the forest, and people from different dimensions stumble into her town to help her out. Three different stories play out in the final tale of Lucas Star Team, with the one connecting factor between them all is two strange twins appearing in each of their worlds.
Good Guys: Familiar faces include Lucas, Princess Daisy, Big the Cat, Gooey, Popplio, the Ice Climbers, Pac-Man, Mr. Game & Watch, Lammy, Villager, and Mae Borowski. We also find a smorgasbord of new heroes joining the ranks: on the Nowhere Islands, Claus, Lucas’ twin brother with similar psychic powers, joins the fight; on Shadow Moses Island, Solid Snake, legendary mercenary, Kaden, Popplio’s Pokémon Trainer, and Greninja, the Ninja Pokémon, join the fight; in Possum Springs, Vector the Crocodile, leader of Team Chaotix, and Shulk, wielder of the Monado, join the fight.
Bad Guys: Familiar faces include Tatanga, Mimikyu, and the Ghost Gang. Though not evil, the Guides are grouped with the antagonists this time around as they fight against Lucas’ team, with Tatanga and the Ghost Gang fighting against Lucas’ team as well. Snake’s team finds themselves facing off against the Pigmask Army, the Ultimate Chimera, and Mimikyu’s Pokémon Trainer, Eva, along with her starter, Charizard. Mae’s team goes up against Big Daddy and Little Sister.
Associates: Familiar faces include Lakitu, Bob-omb, Snifit, Froggy, and Lloid. With Chaos on the antagonistic side, two new associates join: Rope Snake, Lucas’ old companion, and Bob-omb Buddy, Bob-omb’s cousin.
