Description
Approximately 10 years ago, RedBanana125 and BlackCarrot1129 started two series: Super Mario Team and Kirby Superstar Team. In a poor attempt at joining in a crowd I looked up to a bit too much at the time, I tried to do my own story a couple years later titled Lucas Star Team. It was bad. Really bad. It was bland, unoriginal, and uncreative. A lot of it was just copying off of what they'd built in their worlds instead of doing my own thing. The main villain was even one already featured in one of those stories, Kirby Superstar Team. I'm planning on rectifying that by remaking the story from scratch, revamping the story, removing the massive and in-your-face references to their series, and creating a self-contained, original story that I can be proud of.And yes, this is a story I will actually finish.
Storyline: One day, newcomers begin appearing out of nowhere on the Nowhere Islands, throwing Lucas' life into chaos once more. When he learns that the evil alien Tatanga knows about and plans to have the Seven Needles pulled, the child is thrust back into action as he races to keep the Needles from being pulled. Tatanga isn't alone, however, as he's recruited quite a few allies, including a familiar face to Lucas, the Masked Man. However, Lucas isn't alone, as various not-heroes tag along with him, either to keep the bad guys from winning or for personal interest. Along the way, Lucas has frequent run-ins with three strange people who seem to know what's going on and what'll happen, but stay super vague and off to the side. As well, strange things that Lucas has dubbed Heart-Stars have begun appearing from people he makes happy.
Good Guys: These are the dudes going about and saving the Nowhere Islands. Lucas, protector of the Nowhere Islands and leader of the team; Princess Daisy, ruler of Sarasaland and apple of Tatanga's eye; Big the Cat, a lonesome cat who is just trying to find his best friend Froggy after being seperated; Gooey, Dream Land resident that just seems to go at his own pace; Popplio, the Sea Lion Pokémon who is trying to find his trainer; Popo and Nana, the Ice Climbers with a grudge against Tatanga (well, Popo more so); Pac-Man, who seems a bit too desperate to show he's still a hero; and Mr. Game & Watch, buddy of Pac-Man with a strange array of abilities.
Bad Guys: These guys wanna do the opposite of saving the islands. Tatanga, leader of the bad guys with a strange love for Daisy; Chaos, godlike entity from the Master Emerald who works alongside Tatanga; Mimikyu, the Disguise Pokémon with a firmly loyal to Tatanga as he's her only friend; and the Masked Man, a mysterious person who frequently assists Tatanga in pulling the Seven Needles.
Associates: They just kinda get in the way and do their own thing, but also help pretty significantly on their own. Lakitu, an avid prankster who just wants to be liked and appreciated; Bob-omb, a gullible hothead who just wants to prove that Bob-ombs are more than merely weapons; and Snifit, leader of Daisy's guard who just wants to protect his princess.
Guides: They're a mysterious group that guides the team, knowing what's going on without doing anything. Ninten, a PSI hero who is a bit too excitable and with a tendency to charge headfirst into situations; Sans the Skeleton, a lazy skeleton with strange powers of his own; and Tikal the Echidna, a tribal heiress who is frequently worried about the well-being of both her allies and Chaos.
Theme Song: "This Is the New Year" by A Great Big World
Major changes from the original story: The most prominent change is the complete removal of the Dark Matter. They aren't the villains here, that focus is on Tatanga's crew of four now. Most notably, Quilava and Croconaw, previously a hero and a villain respectively, have been replaced by two new Pokémon, Popplio and Mimikyu. This is largely due to Popplio being my favorite Pokémon (well, second to Pikachu, who has already been featured in RedBanana125 's story), thus making the most sense for a Pokémon hero rep in my personal story, as well as Mimikyu possibly having the best motive for a Pokémon as a villain in parallel to Popplio. Certain story elements and encounters change, following a slightly new narrative, with some characters removed entirely in place of new ones (or none at all). Ninten and Tikal are now additionally accompanied by Sans, and are on a tier between heroes and recurring characters, though are considered heroes for the most part. And of course, no direct references to either Super Mario Team or Kirby Superstar Team, and no content from them directly appearing or being used (i.e. no Palkian Order). This is a self-driven story that focuses on itself first and foremost, and is only tied to them spiritually. There may occasionally be very slight nods to the original two series, but nothing more.
