Description
A painting of my recently deceased dog, Baron, my favorite dog in the entire world. Losing him was so painful but I know he is happy where he is now. I've been drawing quite a bit of pictures of him, especially when he first passed, as a sort of therapy exercise. It felt good to know I was honoring him the best way I could. Β I'll post some more of him in an upcoming sketch dump.ΒAcrylic on 8x10 canvas

Ah, this looks so well done! Great how you shaded the area around his eye and nose, I find that hard with acrylics. Really nice painting, that definitely does him justice. He looks so attentive!
Great job, I'm curious about the sketchdump

Thank you!! Β Doing the dark part by this nose and lips was VERY hard. Β It would always come out too dark and I'd have to redo it.Β

Ah yeah...that's the good part about acrylics...wait until they dry and simply paint it over I love that, much better than with watercolours

Yeah, I still need lots of practice with them though! Β They are harder to control than I thought they would be!

that's a fine age for a lab I'm sure you were blessed; dogs are true friends, even the dopey ones :L

Oh wow, this really is such a wonderful tribute to him. <3
I just love that watchful prideful look you've given him, and the way you did his eye! You are getting so good at capturing emotions in them.
Also really nice work with the blending of the colors!

My favorite part is his nose and ears. Β The eye was pretty hard because I had to mix colors just the right way and work in a small area.Β

It was, as Bob Ross would say, "a happy little accident"! Β I didn't mean to do it that way, it just came out.

Creating arm of him is a very good way to remember him, and keep his memory living on. Art makes Baron immortal. Wonderful job!! xD

Beautiful picture. Β I just don't know how they can become so much of your everyday life, but I know that it works in the other way as well. Β Sorry for your lost, but thankful for your wonderful tribute to him.

They work their way into your everyday life by loving and accepting you for who you are and not being shy about showing that love every single day. It's hard not to love an animal like that!Β
