Anyways, thanks to folks who enjoyed this year's update! This is the last year I'd get to do a joke like this and just directly cross streams with OBT's preboot since we're almost where we left off with the original comic's run! It's a little scary since I won't be polishing a story I already wrote from here on out (not that I stuck closely to the preboot's ideas anyway), but I'm excited to start this new era with you all. For real this time, haha

Hey all, and welcome to one of OBT's big twists! So let me explain some things real quick to give you all a rundown of what's going on.

After talking with other artists in various chat rooms, forum threads, etc., there was one thing that was universally agreed upon. Reboots aren't usually a good idea, and a waste of time. I know I'm in a little deep with OBT's reboot- after all, we're almost caught up to where we were before! But the thing is, is it took 4 years to get here. It only took 3 years with OBT's original run- so what gives?

Part of it was original OBT started when I was still in high school. I had a lot of free time on my hands, so churning out pages wasn't a big deal. I also wasn't writing any scripts, doing any thumbnails, and of that pre-planning stuff. Just pantsing it. Then when I rebooted OBT, I was in the thick of college. Hiatuses left and right, I think for a while the comic was on hiatus more often than it was updating. Yikes. So, I wanted to return to the comic's roots. Back to no scripts, no thumbnails, just flying by the seat of my pants. The problem? Current OBT is not geared for this. Pages are a consistent size- meaning there's always limited panel space. This affects a lot of things down the pipeline, but the bottom line is, something has to change. And why not use this opportunity to unite reboot and original comic in holy matrimony? I get to combine the best elements of both comics this way. Rune's fun design and personality from the reboot, and Kodali and Fienne.................. existing! I may as well use old OBT's head start to get further in the story. So yeah, stay tuned. It's getting real wild now.
