Instances where she is referred to as a Flaaffy in the comic:
I understand that at the moment it can be a bit confusing since she doesn't have all 6 of her tails, but as per the pokedex entry (and this page ), she will grow more over time. She also is the Alolan variation of Vulpix, meaning that as seen in the Gen 7 games Sun and Moon, she is a white ice-type variety. If you are still convinced that she's a Flaaffy, here's a sketch of her next to one as they would appear in the comic .
