Description

Class: Strike-Sharp

Components: Woolly Howl + Razorwhip

The Arctorazor is an incredibly rare and mysterious hybrid of mostly unknown origin. What is known is that it is one of the most extensively armored non-boulder class dragons in existence. This dragon is also known to have a habit of flying at high speeds with incredible agility for its size, much like the Woolly Howl. Like the Razorwhip, this dragon has razor sharp spines, albeit having fewer than a purebred Razorwhip. This dragon is also supposedly capable of extreme mood swings, being extremely aggressive one moment and incredibly docile the next, making it rumored to be incredibly unpredictable and nearly impossible to train... if its not thought to be outright impossible to train the Arctorazor. The Arctorazor also has a semi-selective diet, being willing to eat almost anything in colder climates, and at higher altitudes, but restricting its own diet to sea slugs upon migrating to warmer climates or lower altitudes. Why this dragon migrates between altitudes and/or in and out of the arctic circle is unknown, but it may have to do with the seasonal bounty of food, and/or seasonally higher temperatures. This dragon does have a limited mane of feathers, which appears to be mainly for display purposes or species recognition as opposed to the Woolly Howls far more extensive and far more insulative coat of feathers. As often happens with so many of the rarer and more mysterious hybrids, rumor has a tendency to outpace myths, and this appears to have particularly been the case among the Outcasts, the Berserkers, and the Bog-Burglars, most of whom have assumed that this dragon hoards vast amounts of gold and precious gemstones in its lair. There are also rumors that no viking has ever set foot in the lair of this dragon... In reality, the Arctorazor is surprisingly as docile as the Woolly Howl, with little of the Razorwhips aggressive temperament. The rumors of hidden wealth being found in their lairs appears to stem from a more general habit of collecting and playing with shiny objects, and from their defensive habit of hiding their (hatched blind) offspring in burrows and small, well camouflaged dens when they're out hunting. The Berk Dragon Academy is currenlty trying to find out more about the mysterious origins of this rare (and most likely new) hybrid species.
