Description
Class: Boulder-Mystery
Components: Sentinel + Bubblehorn
The Strange Statue was on its initial discovery mistaken for an odd statue of a dragon, and called as much by its discoverers. They only realized their mistake when the statue began to move! The Strange Statue, like any Sentinel, is blind and heavily armored, with an imposing stature and impressive wingspan. This dragon normally sits completely still and/or sleeps on its perch, seemingly coming to life only when intruders threaten its chosen graveyard, or when elderly, sick, or injured dragons arrive and need care. The Statue, like most dragons of its ilk, subsists on a diet of moss, lichens, and fungi, keeping its chosen graveyard well tended and preventing it from becoming overrun with fungi and lichens in particular. This dragon also has a hollow horn connected to its nasal cavity, which it uses to release explosive snot bubbles. The Strange Statue also has retractable spikes on its tail, head, and limbs, which it can use to appear extra intimidating. The Strange Statue has also been known to use its spikes as a means of camouflaging in a bizarre way- the pearlescent texture of the spikes makes the Strange Statue look even more like an actual statue. This dragon is well known for making funeral pyres for deceased dragons, and collecting the unburnt skins and bones afterwards, carefully placing the bones and skins in open fronted burial mounds with the bones and skins of other dragons of the same species. The Strange Statue is also known to periodically check the burial mounds in case of theft by scavengers such as Boneknappers and Grim Gnashers. The Strange Statue seems to have an encyclopedic knowledge of dragons based on its care for their dead and their dying.
