You don't need dull colors or otherwise specific color schemes to be terrifying. In fact, the most jarring and/or terrifying thing about the Featherhide as a horror monster might just be that it typically has extremely bright, vibrant colors for a dragon. It also says something about how effective the Featherhide would have to be as a horror monster to rack up an actual kill count- humans are hard wired to notice bright colors that stand out against their backgrounds, and the Featherhide has that trait in spades! Then again, it does have the ability to effectively turn invisible in a similar manner to the Changewing, so it might only need to ensure that it isn't heard by humans, and it can otherwise in a way be as reckless as it wants to. Talk about a scary thought! The fact that it can emit very loud screams can make it even easier, as it could stun and disorient a person just by sneaking up on them and screaming at point blank range, giving the Featherhide ample time to go for the kill...
