Description
This pony was made as a pet for my custom Strawberry Shortcake doll Sour Apple. She was made from a white G3 My Little Pony that was rerooted with Katsilk hair in CM Midnight and Evergreen. The eyes were repainted in acrylics and sealed. The corset and boots were sculpted from Apoxie Sculpt, painted and sealed. The fishnet gloves on the forlegs and the striped stockings were painted in acrylic and sealed.Related content

Hello ! and congrats!
You have earned yourself an ODD (`oibyrd 's daily deviations!) This account feature was created to bring likeminded artists together, to be inspired and to hopefully meet new friends.
I feature both popular artists and new ones in order to create a closer community spirit - if you would rather your work not be featured anyplace but on your own page, please let me know and I will take it down.
Otherwise you can view your feature (and other wonderful talents!) at this link:

Keep up the great work! (and forgive me for the cut-and-paste message - it's all just a part of time management )

most "sculptsclay" needs to be hardened in an oven, this aproxie, doesnt it need that or do you put the whole pony into the owen or what? I cant figure it out, I do not think that the pony would make it through.
beautiful custom, all of them

I don't use Sculpey, I use Apoxie Clay or Apoxie Sculpt (basically the same thing and made by the same company [link] ). It does not need to be baked. It air hardens in only a few hours after being mixed (it's a two part compound).

Does Apoxy Sculpt have the same problems as sculpey with fingerprints?

Woosie In reply to smottedhorses [2009-10-15 02:21:03 +0000 UTC]
it does show finger prints...but that's with any sculpting medium really. If it's a problem just smooth it with a damp finger or sand after it's hardnened.

I've been using a q-tip and water before I bake the sculpey, but since I can't sand sculpey III I always have a few little residual things I miss.
Weird side-note...I just realized that the studio that creates the Apoxie line is 7 miles away from where I live, so maybe I can get it without the shipping costs! xD

Ooh, I'm jealous. Shipping is kinda expensive for me as I buy the big tubs of it and it's pretty heavy. The company put some pictures of my customs in some kind of examples book that they take to trade shows to advertise what you can do with their products.
