If she were to sludge through it (not sure if she would entirely turn into a puddle), and still keep her upper part reasonably solid (though being liquidy), wouldn't the grate cut her up? Or, would she just slop through it

She's half re-formed from her liquid state. When she's going through the grate she's completely liquid so she can just ooze through it.
