Well I see that many of the time he works stricly as only muscle and has seemed to partially lose the overall high IQ.
In that new animated Public Enemies movies he is taken down with a batarang and a single kick to the face. Bane, the gy who figured out Batman's identy in three years. Bane the man who broke the bat and crippled him for life before he decided to use the lazerius pit to heal himself.
It just seems to me DC envokes the rule that you can't have a villian that's both brains and brawns.

I get what you're saying and I do agree. It just seems like anyone that uses him in such a way either doesn't like the character or knows very little about him.
It was extremely disappointing to see him in the Public Enemies movie. They could of put anyone else to be taken down so easily. Though I do remember seeing him in the Gotham Underground paperback (would of mentioned issue but usually collect PBs) and figuring out who Bruce was in disguise without a second glance.
So, I guess it just depends on who is writing the story is all.
