I'm also crippled (to an extent,I can walk,but I need to use a walker so I use my wheelchair around the house a lot) so the fact that he was in a wheelchair just..honestly touches my heart because I rarely find any characters like that,so I can really relate to him physically,as well as mentally because I happen to love PeterPan/Tinkerbell (I have a TON of Tink stuff in my room,she's my fave) I'm also shy with new people and have a hard time with big groups of people,so..
he's very very special to me.

and it is really cool to have characters like Tavros represent minority groups like that
thats one thing i love about homestuck the characters all have diverse issues they have to deal with and its hella relatable for a lot of its readers... you know except for the world getting destroyed or whatever pfft
and same ive never been good around groups.. if its only one person at a time id have to get to know then its okay but getting thrown into a room full and expected to be sociable hell no ill sit in my corner thank you very much
