Fennec's are my favourite type of fox - I just adore the huge liquid eyes and the insanely huge ears 
But I didn't know they were the only sub-type that you can legally (and realistically) keep domestically. You've given me ideas that my mother will now hate me for even considering...XD.

In maltese we call rabbit a "Fennek"...maybe this has some connection with his ears? ..could be wrong mind you

probably not, as fennec comes from Arabian word for fox

ah ok..well here's my theory. Maltese is an amalgamation of Arabic and Italian. since in malta we have rabbits but not foxes (or foxi or foxen
