Description
Antillean (Caribbean) Manatee (Trichechus manatus manatus, Kapustňák širokonosý), Tirgarten Nürnberg, Germany. For many years, manatees inhabited incredibly tiny pool in Nuremberg, I think the tank had volume just some 70 000 litres. Still they managed to rise several calves. But in 2011 they moved to brand new tank that allows nice underwater viewing and 10 x bigger space, so manatees can now swim like crazy which they, of course, do NOT do
Very bad and boring photo, but I wanted to have a manatee in my gallery
Thank you for your comments and faves

INFO ABOUT THE ANIMAL:
Name: Antillean or Caribbean manatee (T. m. manatus)
Location: Caribbean and the northwestern Atlantic Ocean
Size: 2,7 - 3,5 m weight: up to 600 kg
Diet: water plants
Conservation status: endangered.
Interesting facts: although they look fat and lazy, they can be surprisingly playiful and active in the water | they are threatened by boats as they often get very serious injured by propellers | they have envolved in waters that are free of predators such as sharks or killer whales and those big predators only rarely visit habitat of manatees | they are very close relatives of elephants | mother usually gives birth to one calf, which feeds on mother milk |

This is not a very bad and boring photo even for you Woxys. The colors are very peaceful and the palette of colors goes well together. The Logs and Fish frame the manatee and show off a pleasant environment capable of making them happy. It's sharp and clear as always which in the water environment it's in is next to impossible. Not even sure how you managed that. It doesn't even look like it's underwater. The rule of thirds is well used here. No reflections or dirt on the glass so the position is grand. I guess DA needs to open up a new thing where talented artists critique their own work because I can't find a flaw. Other then the watermark being poorly placed. I'd have put it on a harder to remove spot if I had happen to me the same as you have in the past.

That's cool that they also live with fish. That's a pacu in the upper right corner, common Amazon fish.

they live in the same space also with other fish species, birds, frongs, butterflies and monkeys, all of them freely flying or jumping in the hall

Woxys goes to Zoos steadily and can spend hours waiting for the perfect photo. I really enjoy Woxys photos. Seeing all his Gorgeous photos has made a really big difference in my life. Most would laugh or scoff at the idea but it's true. 1 year ago I was at 570 lbs. I have been dieting and exercising for the last 7 1/2 months and went from 581 down to 522 lbs. A difference of 27 kilos or 59 lbs. All in hopes of getting to be more mobile to get better and more photos. I have a trip planned to the biggest Zoo that has Orangutans around my area for later this month. Some of my work
