Blacktip reef shark (Carcharhinus melanopterus, Zralok cernoploutvy) from ZOO Olomouc, Czech republic
I have a "list" of animals I want to see and photograph - and of course, I have always wanted to to have a shot of a shark in my gallery!

Blacktip reef shark is my favorite shark for some reason. They are so very beautiful. Also I like this shot, the contrast is especially nice.

Yes! I got it when I "upgraded" my profile settings. DA gave me some options for my avatar and I just had to go with this one. The other options would be my old one, or some randomly coloured smiley face.

Males have what are called claspers. Look up a picture of a male shark and you will be able to see the difference on their underside behind the lower fins. It's hard to explain unless I physically point it out to you lol. So, sorry for the shoddy explanation.
