Description
Red fox (vulpes vulpes, liska obecna) from Pasíčka, station for animals, who are handicaped or who simply can not survive in the wild; Czech republicNEWEST PHOTO -----> ADORABLE BABY WOLVES!
Story of the photo: this fox has only one eye. It was found in the forest. Expersts say that some myslivci probably used this fox to train their dogs, although it is illegal. One-eyed fox fortunately has a nice home and lovely care now... It lives in a big cage with two other saved red foxes, they have some grass and tree trunks there, comfortable looking boxes to hide and very tasty looking meat. When I saw them, fur of all three foxes was literally shining and foxes seemed very relaxed. I was very satisfied when I saw their living conditions. I bet they have nice lives now
EDIT: I am NOT the one who blame the myslivci! EXPERTS from the station say that. The fox has also NO teeth and there are probably more indications, that myslivci did this to the fox. But stop flaming me for just publishing the opinion of the experts
EDIT NO.2: HONESTLY, PEOPLE - SPEAKING ABOUT SOMETHING YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT MAKES YOU LOOK A BIT STUPID
about ,,IT WAS NOT INJURED BY DOGS, AS NO INJURIES ARE VISIBLE" - I saw a baby fox few days ago, who was brought by myslivci THEMSELVES, and they THEMSELVES said that their dog hunted and injured the fox kit. Fox was injured only few hours ago. And still I had to hold the baby in my arms to be able to touch and feel the injuries. They were all hidden under her SUMMER fur, so no photos show them. Fox in the picture is in her FLUFFY WINTER FUR. So your theory ,,myslivci's dogs did not do it, because no scars are visible" is very naive, as fluffy fur could hide EVERYTHIG.
So again, better not comment, because you know nothing about myslivci

Interesting facts: red fox can hide its food to find it later | usually five cubs are born blind and helpless in the burrow | foxes have many colour variations: usually – ginger-red, but also black or silver, Unfortunately, red fox is kept by fur farms and some ----- torture them just to gain their fur. Red foxes are also hunted by so called ,,sportmen“ | red foxes suffer from rabies | red fox is considered to be vermit | red foxes produce pretty weird sounds XD | foxes in the wild live only some 4 years, but they can reach 12 years in captivity

Legend: foxes play important role in many myths and legend. Due their inteligence, they have become symbol of slyness and cunning. They are also very popular animals, who have role in many fairy tales. In the Czech republic, author Rudolf Tesnohlidek wrote very famous book about very clever hand-rised vixen called Bystrouska. I loved that book and also it funny happy end!

Awwwwwwww. Poor Foxy, he looks so sad in this photo. Would like to blind the hunter by plucking out his eyes and see how he likes it. >.<

And is there really any proof that it was in fact hunters? No. Woxys nor "the experts" know for sure. They found the fox this way. Ever think they got in a fight with another animal, possibly another larger animal? Or maybe had gum disease, which would = the loss of his teeth? Makes me mad that people blame hunters and call them evil just because of some assumptions.

No, I understand, but people just shouldn't assume hunters did something like that. I mean, there isn't a single scar on the fox's face, which is a bit suspicious if it was attacked so viciously by a dog that its eye was ripped out. Even if the hunters in the area are hateful and cruel, no one actually saw them hurting the fox, or their dogs anyways. The experts are the ones that really shouldn't jump to conclusions. Even experts don't know everything, even if they've been doing this for years.

Racist much? being a specific religion doesn't solve the problem... I'm not buddist does that mean I don't care. Regardless of a religion someone CAN care and make a diffrence...

"Racist" would actually be an improper term because in order for someone to be racist, a race must play a factor or at least be mentioned. Buddhism is not a race; In fact, it is debatable to a few if it can even be considered a religion. It's more of a philosophy or a way of thinking, they don't even hold a deity but instead they have a teacher who was just a man, a peaceful and wise man, who tried to help end suffering and help people to reach a sense of peace. I think Ellanious was trying to imply that if people would apply that philosophy to their everyday lives then no harm would ever come to a living creature again. Try not to be so harsh with her.
By the by, I'm not Buddhist

Ouch harsh. I was referring to the fact that buddhists hold each and every life on the same meaning level. Squashing an ant to us is just as offensive as killing a human child. That was merely my point...

look I understand that but still you mustn't go around saying things like that some will find it offensive and though I care not about others belief's I know others who are very religious and would take such comments as an insult to their religion

Alright I really see what you are saying. Sorry I have offended you and I hope you still see me as a good person despite my "blunder". I should have said something along the lines of "It would be nice to see more people treat things as equal. Sort of as Buddhists do, with their treating of all things as equals."
Happy?

I never said I was mad with you or thought you were a bad person, I was simply saying religion is taken seriously to some and I think someone who reads that comment might be offended.

Miss-Ellanious In reply to ZoruaXZoroark [2011-06-02 23:03:12 +0000 UTC]
...you did imply I was a racist... Which seemed like an angry response. In any case I made reparations, I hope anyone who reads my original comment is not offended and hope they don't relate it to Buddhism directly at all, as I said it was a blunder on my part alone and I hope they see that.
OH! And to the photographer...sorry about spamming your photo. It really is a beautiful capture of a beautiful creature. I hope all the best for the fox and yourself and all others.

from where i come from, people r cruel to animals too! and whats worse, is that there is no authorities that cares about animal rights there! u easily can see a dead cat in the side of the street and bunch of cars come and go. u definatly know that it got hit by a car and rolled over!. and it's there lying on the street and no one is even bothered to pick it up to another place!!?? in my old school i used to have my finals and wait for my dad to pick me up, i found this old cat laying in front of the garden-door of our school, so i came near him and pat it on the head (i think its a male! )everyday after i finish the exam i run as fast as i can to meet this cat, we became friends i guess. then i started to buy something for him like a tuna can, or kintaki chicken legs then i always stand by it waiting for my dad. kids like me come by and watch me dong this and they start to laugh and giggle which made me feel a little embarrassing and sad..then one of the kids called out a teacher and she came and scolded me telling me things like "what r u doing? u should be going home now!, if u dont leave u will go to principal's office and get to trouble!" then just when i picked up my bag i saw the teacher hitting the cat with her heavy purse! the cat ran away and since then i never saw him again!...
