I recently got to try the fourth generation Pokémon games, the Pearl version to be exact. Decided to pick chimchar as my starter (because I like fire type, and I also like fighting type, and I absolutely love monkeys, so yeah).

I have no idea why, but every time I play the games my 'mons seem to generate personality for themselves, and before I even know it, they have evolved into characters, not just a critters you collect and train in games. They start to have their own life and stories that don't need the pixels anymore, and I'm not sure if I have anything to do with it myself.

Tuikku, the fire monkey is the leader of my team in Pearl, so I decided that she deserved to be drawn.

And like usual, I got this drawing urge pretty late at night, way too late considering that I had to wake up early the next morning.. Made with Copic markers. (I have no idea why I decided to use Copics, I only have one shade of orange and one shade of red and this thing is mostly orange. Had to use brown in some of the shadings. Scanner ate some shadings, as usual. And I think I made the tail too big, but hey, it's flaming. She's firing up to get ready to battle in here or something.)
