Yeah, I really do like this look for her. It's adorable.

To answer the question though, not any more. Back in high school I had a character set based on friends... because, you know, it was high school in the early 2000's in the peak "webcomics based on the artist's friends" era. I was lucky that, in doing so, I also learned the limitations of that approach, and so never really went back to basing characters on real people. It is, frankly, a bit fraught.

Honestly, there are probably far worse places to be than "at sea" right now. Glad to hear he got back safe and sound (I assume) though.

I'm not entirely certain how well Higgins would get along with her home town friends anymore. I always pictured her as being a little bit of an outsider with them anyway, kind of tagging along to be accepted somewhere, and now she's gone and seen a bit of the world, taken on some responsibility and the like. Not entirely sure yet, though I have been meaning to do at least one picture of her with them.

I had the same kind of situation with friends I use to run around with when I was in high school.  At times I felt as being on the edge of their world.  After I was in the Air Force, I felt as if I had taken a huge step forward in my outlook on the world, while they were still stuck in their hometown world.

I can understand Higgins (does she have a first name?) take on her hometown world.  And she would feel far superior to those who stayed behind.  I can see her coming home some years later with Chief Petty Officer's stripes on her uniform sleeve.

Yeah, what you describe sounds pretty much like I imagine Higgins feeling. All the small-town concerns just don't seem so important anymore.

For the record, I'm about 80% certain her first name is "Emily".

Thank you for your concern.  I'm hoping Australia is on the road to recovering the land, but still struggling with the COVID-19.   Trump said he would make America great again, but I don't think he was thinking about this pandemic.

It was how I felt when I came home from Germany.  Felt like the others were looking up to me as having seen a bit of the world.  Slowly became part of the old gang, but never fully integrated into the group.

And I feel that 'Emily' would be a great first name for her!

Thanks mate, I'll admit I'm really happy with how this one came out. Glad you like the clothes details too. I'll admit both jumper and sneakers were massive pains in the arse to draw, though worth the effort.
