Description Staring at the ceiling as the clock's ticking the time away
Restless thoughts screaming as I slowly replay the day
A single question remains as I am sorting through how I feel
Do three simple words have the power to heal?

Can these words give courage? Can they give me the bravery
to face everyone and everything standing between me and
loving bliss can three words bestow happiness?
Can they replace the hatred, pain, and disgrace
the placebo truths I've popped to survive?

Are they just a band-aid for a bullet hole?
A tourniquet lest I forget the lessons of the past?
that hearts for hire aren't meant to last
Give up, don't try you'll just be used?
Well I for one... I for one REFUSE

To everyone they're nothing special but to me they're the epitome
All sorrow's epitaph now finally I'm free at last
You see these little words taken for granted mean the very world to me
staring into darkness I hope they mean the same to her too
It's nothing short of perfection the power that comes from
these three simple words
