Description I return home to find that my travels have done a number on me, both physically and clothingly.

My hair is longer and ragged, my clothes are torn to bits and I have a tan. All of which are explained by the last panel (desert, long pursuit, BEAST)

Terasque(or Terasq) is a desert-dwelling insect. It is centipede like in shape but can grow to the size of a mature male rhino. It hunts by burying its massive segments beneath the flowing earth in a circle. Once prey enters that perimeter, it explodes from the sand and traps the meal in its coil.

Sadly no, it was based on a nightmare I had... Though I had forgotten that fact... huh.

Is this insect, by any chance, based on the infamous Tarrasque from D&D?

Agree'd, maybe a tank or railgun would have worked.
