Adam's Comments:

IIII genuinely can't remember if we'd shown off Darryl's.... .... Wait, yeah, I'm pretty sure we never saw what his costume looked like until now. So I can gush and say that I'm pretty proud of it. It's pretty bizarrely 70s but I think in a way that suits what a fun, jokey character he is. The headband and the big stupid smile on his face are what sell it. I kinda have to stop myself from giving Darryl that expression every signle time I draw him because it just looks awesome.

But fuck that, let's talk about what's really important about this page, the artwork. ^^ The hair! The clothes! The breasts! All of them were tweaked and refined. Look at how the hair now fluffs and flutters more naturally about the head instead of being just solid shapes, how the clothes hang off the body and leave realistic folds, how the breasts are less just two half-circles scribbled onto the chest.... Admittedly that last one's not quite perfect but I'm still very pleased with the result. ^^

It all came about literally overnight when Martin and I were streaming and just tossed back and forth elements of the art we wanted fixed. I'm sure he'll have more to say but we were both sort of stunned when we were finished. They're a series of smaller, tinier changes but they add up to so much it was genuinely shocking to me how big the difference was. I remembre thinking like it felt someone else drew it. .... Hell, it still sorta does.

For the record we also fixed how we do crotches, but that was slower. I'll get deeper into it later. ..... WOW, that sounded inappropriate....

Either way, really, really hope folks enjoy. ^^

Martin's Comments:

For what it's worth a lot of the playing around we did with this page didn't actually make it into the end product - the stuff we did with the clothes and chests were actually much more in-depth than this, and we also did some facial tweaks, but since we wanted to have some room to mess around with the specifics they weren't integrated here. Here's how the shot of Sareena in the penultimate panel that we used for testing actually came out, giving some rough idea of how the comic'll likely look once we're kind of ready to start directly integrating all of this, though can see some aspects of it I want to work on some more so this is far from a finished product or anything.

But yeah, this isn't really the most substantive page in regards to the greater narrative, but I am pretty happy with how it came out and do enjoy getting to bounce around some character details of this nature. In particular I like the chance to go a little more into Ana's marriage and Misty's blind dating, both aspects of the characters I want to mess around with further.

Funny thing, Daryl was actually initially designed in his costume but we just haven't really had reason to bring it up before now. Think it really suits him though, just looks like a fun, over-the-top kind of hero that's appropriate for his goofy personality and his very eye-catching powers.
