Description
Waiting for the girl of my dreams,
waiting for an angels face to see
She walked out, came to me and smiled.
“It's been awhile.”
I hugged her big.
“Sorry, I've been sick.”
She bumped my arm
“It did no harm.
I missed you, though.”
“Twice as much, I missed you so.”
We walked along, talking some.
Headed to a class, filled with fun.
A friend of hers walking by,
turned to her and with a sigh,
asked a question that hurt me deep,
“When are you going to find the boy you seek?”
I turned to him who'd asked.
Thinking he was a giant ass.
“I've been asking her the exact same thing.
She needs to find a guy to be her king.
Worthy of holding your hand everyday,
courageous enough to dragon slay.
Find a guy worth your time,
sending you a loving rhyme.
Willing to say you're on his mind.
Able to say you make the world shine.”
In a crowded hall, said this I did.
“What, I'm not telling a fib.”
He shook his head and walked away,
but my dream girl simply stayed.
“You think I should get all that? “
To our seats, we walked and sat.
“All that and every pearl.
Darling dear, I'd give you the world.”
she laughed a little, looking me up and down.
Sizing me up like a goofy clown.
“Sure, why not?
I think in here, it's a little hot.”
Change of subject, didn't tell her
Keep my heart in a blur.
“I wonder why it's so hot in here?”
“Because of you my dear.”
I never tell her, all I wish.
I smile big, slightly impish.
Hug her bye, and take my seat.
Stare forlornly at my feet.
I guess sometimes the truth is best a secret.
Gives me a filler for my blank templates.
