Description
Finally found it. I went to Myeondgong Market for the sole purpose to find all the food but it took a second trip to find it (I think I went too late at night the first time). It was incredible! I was walking around on cloud nine, munching on boiled chestnuts, taking so many pictures and humming to all the K-pop playing everywhere. Also, oranges have a different aesthetic here, they keep a little twig on the top and one leaf on the orange. It is so cute! In Mid-east who knows what America, aha--the great lakes region, all the oranges have no twigs on them so this kept me very entertained for a while.Plus, I often cook variety of Korean and Japanese food so seeing all of the real life ingredients blew my mind. Much better than the substitutes I have to come up with back home! haha
This market was intense with how many shops and restaurants were crammed in together. I loved all the activity!

See, Asian markets that I have been to in other places such as in the United States or in London, those smelled so fishy and bad but here it smelled of so much incredible food-it was wonderful!

Ha! that's good, but in China, like in maybe Ningbo it smells like garbage with rotting organs.

Well, I was born there but don't really remember anything but my mom and uncle told me about the Chinese markets and how animals would be slaughtered live in front of you. Since the animals are live that also means they do all of the things animals do in there pins. The fish are also live and I hate the smell of even cooked fish. But I love taro and the smell of freshly baked taro. Taro is basically a Chinese purple potato.
