I like this alot - I often have a difficult time parsing out the differences between, dealing with issues, and, honestly assessing and counting blessings - but I think at the very least, "counting you blessings" needs to be an opportunity for a person to explore personally, and not a requirement / public mandate.

To analyze something into it's parts... Although now that I'm looking into it, it looks more like the word has to do with words and sentences than ideas.

I'll put that down as today's thing learned.

A feeling most people can relate to. Everyone is allowed to feel how they feel without being made to feel guilty for feeling it.

I agree. People who struggle aren't automatically ungrateful, or weak, or bratty, or lazy. They could be very brave and very positive, but that doesn't change the fact that they are struggling. And I agree it's important to be able to express the struggle sometimes. And to receive empathy rather than judgment when they do express aspects of their struggle.

An excellent and important take on toxic positivity culture, which constantly dismisses the voices of people in need of support especially when it comes to mental and (in many situations) physical health.

I do too. It's helpful labeling because too many people fail to see distinction between affirming optimism and basic dismissal, "I know it's hard, but you're strong, and you're going to get through this," versus "Just think positive! You're always so negative." One is a person at least genuinely trying to be helpful by being validating and encouraging and the other is a person offering up platitudes because they themselves can't (or don't want to) handle their discomfort in the face of the other person's feelings. So, if you label "Just think happy thoughts!" as toxic positivity, it helps people understand that thoughtless platitudes aren't actually helpful. Because it seems that most people don't realize it otherwise.
