Physical Description:
Human Form - White skin tone with light green eyes. Wavy black hair worn in a very loose, low-hanging ponytail reaching her hips. Tall with an oval face shape and square nose.

Monster Form - Scaled light green skin with the scales particularly noticeable on the neck and chest. Black eyes with no discernible pupils. No hair. Clawed webbed hands and feet. Tall with an oval face shape. Bright red lips and no nose. Feathery external gills on the sides of head.

Clothing Description:
Human Form - A tight, calf-length tan dress with long sleeves and a high neck. A light blue buttoned-up sweater jacket with three-quarter sleeves and white buttons. Sweater jacket has a wide white stripe across the collar, across the bottom, and down the middle. White tights and light blue slip-on heels. A white sea shell bracelet held together with a tan band, worn on the right hand. A light blue ribbon tying back her hair. Bright red lipstick.

Monster Form (Drak Pack) - A light blue one-piece swimsuit with shorts, with a white pattern resembling a classic white one-piece on it. A light blue swim cap. No shoes. A white sea shell bracelet held together with a tan band, worn on the right wrist.

Monster Form (Gravedale High) - A loose, knee-length light blue sundress with strap sleeves and a tan belt around the waist. A tan sunhat with a light blue ribbon around it. Strappy tan sandals. A white sea shell bracelet held together with a tan band, worn on the right wrist.

Franklin “Franky” Dirge

Rita’s childhood best friend and one of the people she considered herself closest with. Franky was the only kid her age in her neighborhood, so the two of them were together often, bonding and becoming very close. She was devastated once his parents divorced and he had to move away, and even more so once he was sent to “boarding school” and could no longer respond to her letters. It wasn’t until high school when she reconnected with his mother that she was able to get in contact with him again. Much to her pleasure, he was just as excited to see her again and she was him. Even though she no longer gets to physically see him as much as she used to, the fact that they’re talking again and have rekindled their friendship makes her happy.

Drakula “Drak” Dracula Jr.

Rita’s acquaintance and sort-of friend. She and Drak met a few times as children at soirees and other rich monster events their families made them attend, but never quite liked one another. Now that they’re older, they still aren’t particularly close - with Rita believing Drak to be self-centered and dramatic and Drak thinking that Rita is unnecessarily withdrawn and a wet blanket - but they do hang out and tolerate each other well enough, mainly for Franky’s sake. (If they did take the time to know each other, though, they would find that they actually have some common ground.)

Gill Waterman

Rita’s distant cousin and one of the people she’s most likely to be with while at school. Due to the isolated nature of her family she didn’t meet Gill until high school, but she was genuinely touched how quickly he accepted her as family and tried to make her feel comfortable at school. She now tries to return the kindness by hanging out with him at school whenever she gets the chance.

Madelyn-Madison “Maddie” Scientist

Rita’s neighbor and close friend, and another one of the people she’s most likely to be with while at school. At first, Rita made friends with Maddie because she had no one else her age to hang out with in her neighborhood. However, as the two of them got closer she began to genuinely appreicate how easy-going Maddie was and how she felt she could loosen up around her. The two of them are still friends now, though, secretly, part of the reason is because Rita feels like Maddie needs someone to help her in the world and that she has a responsibility to return the kindness Maddie showed to her when they were children.

Ben and Julia Lagoon

Rita’s parents. Rita and her parents do care for one another, though they don’t get to see each other as much. By day her parents are making their monster movies and by night they’re having their monster meetings. She has very fond childhood memories with them (even despite the parties she didn’t like to attend), and overall she’s content with the way things are. But, while she’s happy that they respect her choice not to get involved in the movie world and that they genuinely enjoy what they do, she does sometimes wonder what it would be like if they had a more typical family relationship, or even if she was outgoing enough to keep up with them as it is now.

Other important notes:

- Rita transforms into her monster form when exposed to large amounts of water, such as being caught a rainstorm, diving into a pool, or even taking a shower if she’s not careful. Because of this, she covers up a lot more in her human form to try and avoid unwanted contact with water.

- Rita doesn’t have too many powers in her monster form - she can breathe underwater and has enhanced strength and endurance, but that’s about it. The fact that she’s not as “skilled” as other monsters tends not to bother her unless it’s directly brought up.

- Rita does do some “super heroics” from time to time, in that she does her best to prevent her neighbor Eve L. Scientist from doing anything particularly heinous or that would make monsters look worse than they already are. She is aware that sometimes her neighbor purposefully sets things up so she and Maddie can stop her, but tries not to think about it too much.

- Rita’s “uniform” of sorts during these “super heroics” was inspired by what her mother would wear in her movies.

- Rita’s shell bracelet is a childhood gift from Franky and something she does not take off unless she absolutely has to.

- Rita allows Franky, and no one but Franky, to call her by a nickname; he still sometimes refers to her as “Lady”, a childhood nickname based off of how fancily she dressed as a child.

- Rita comes from a rich film family; her parents are prominent in the monster movie world.

- Rita is in Ms. Dirge’s class at Gravedale, which she purposefully requested to be in. She feels more comfortable with her then other teachers knowing that she has positive feelings towards humans (and also because she’s friends with her son).
