Christmas used to be a very important thing - it used to be a symbol of new hope, new life, of coming salvation. It was to bring the family together, make us think about the life on this earth, about how someone is a small, happy child one minute and a man unjustly sentenced to death the next one. About how the poorest and the meekest can be a king and the wealthiest - a no good piece of shit.
Now Christmas is mainly about shopping.
In supermarkets they play songs about the birth of Christ and salvation of the human kind so you can listen to them while loading pieces of dead animals, bottles of toilet cleaners or dvds with movies about emotion -free shagging or killing into your trolley. Am i the only person who sees something very very disturbing in that?

anyway - the blue lady is from Memling's "Final judgement" and most of the Mother and Child comes from "The Virgin and Child" by Fouquet.
