Description Henry "The Dude" kitty in front of my green background.
Isn't he adorable with his tongue sticking out ever so slightly?

How does he eat dry food with no teeth? Does he swallow the little bits whole? Well I've seen cats in worse shape and Henry looks pretty good after all his former health problems.

That's a great question. Perhaps he gums them to death or just swallows them whole. I'll ask the owners this weekend when I go down to visit them, and I'll be sure to let you know.

I would think they would have to puree his food and let him use a straw. I guess he could always get implants.

Yep, gotta love it when cats do that. It's almost as if he forgets he has a tongue XD

Henry (A.K.A. 'The Dude') was a rescue kitty. Who really knows what he went through, but the majority of his teeth were badly decayed and damaged and needed to be extracted when he was adopted. He was dangerously underweight. The new owners took him to the vet and got him all fixed up. The Dude sported just one canine tooth. His lack of teeth causes his tongue to hang out a good half inch on a regular basis. Kind of sad, but so adorable! He gained weight, no longer has atrocious breath due to decaying teeth, and he's the sweetest kitty-- an avid lap-cat. Not very playful, but most affectionate and never grouchy. From across the room, he'll look for eye contact... and once he finds it, he'll zero in on you and be on your lap in seconds. He's treated like a king.

A few weeks ago he lost his last tooth-- but still refuses to eat anything but dry food (they've tried so hard to give him various soft foods, but he just won't have any of it). He's maintaining weight, and despite being toothless, continues to be the happiest a cat can be. ^^

Wow...at least he was taken good care of. I can't imagine how he's still able to be so loving. Yeah, I've had cats like that. They just love people no matter what.

Dang, that's kind of amazing how he's still able to do that...Well that's awesome. Good to hear it
