My entry for *silverglass19 s carousel contest.
I went for Alonso for no specific reason, though part of it I think is because he goes well with blue and gold, two colors I cannot escape: they are Watchung Stables' colors and the colors for earning a Bachelor of Science degree at Centenary College. At any rate, I know there are areas where I could have done better with the shading, but I haven't ever had to shade shiny painted wood before. And you'll notice that I took the subject of the contest as literally as possible and went with a plausible carousel horse that could be found on a real carousel. I dunno, I'm weird like that
But that's whyhe doesn't have extreme ribbons and flowers and such, I modeled him after the old school carousel horses 
The pose, decorations and everything were created by me though, I just followed the style. Anyway, here he is, thanks for challenging me with this contest silverglass!

Oh wow! I think the shading is wonderful! You did a really excellent job making him look like a horse made of wood, not a real horse with a pole through it (like mine look
