thanks when I started drawing the extra geometric shapes like the square and circle I started to notice the over all geometry of the veve in general. It would be interesting to some analysis of all the veves and see how things work out.

ahhh which one indeed! John.... I will tell you once I created the veve and placed in my letters the Haitian Invocation that circles four times the image. I placed it upon my altar I offered the traditional items that I just happened to have but alas there was no rum or tabbaco for him to have but I did offer some coffee and bread, peanuts. I called him forth and waited till I felt the tingling upon my skin and that creepy being watched feeling. I asked him if he would like a cane and I placed my Was Scepter against the altar. I turned my back to fetch something and at that moment I heard a crash and I saw that the painting and the 5 candles I placed upon had fallen off their place with the cane knocked over to the side.... I thought maybe I place the cane funny but I made sure it was sturdy.... the wax had spilled over the image. I scraped it off and in the process I took the prisma white pencil which I later replaced with red. We shall see...

i haven't read this book - but have read other books by the author. Bascome is a big guy in Yoruba anthropology. the Ifa book i really want is out of print.

sure a veve is a graphic represenation of a spirit kind of like a sigil or seal used in european medival griomories: book of magick.

Legba is the  Haitian Voodoo god of roads and crossroads he is a gatekeeper and master of ceremonies.
