if you havent figured it out yet you copy the image from "preview" or whatever picture browser you use, go to the options bar, click "copy", now got into "finder", find the folder you want to change, right click the mouse, get info, pick the folder icon on the info panel, click the edit button up to of your screen, click "paste" and it should change to the desired folder icon you want. "note! some folder icons cannot be changed." i hope this helped you.
