Description Deck sat up on the couch with a stretch and a sigh. Even after a short nap, he was still thinking it was getting on toward bed-time. It was late in an already-long day, in a long week, and he was about due for a good night's sleep. However, it appeared fate had other plans for the heroic young cougar...

From the corner of his eye, he noticed a flash of white through the gap between the curtains on his house-front window. Suddenly-alert gaze flicking over for a better look, he caught a glimpse of a white-furred figure slipping in through the door of the house across the street. TK's house... And that figure looked suspiciously like Sonya - a difficult identification not to make, given the villainous tigress' prominent red-and-blue mohawk...

Nerves suddenly on edge and mind racing, Deck swung his feet to the floor and hopped up, mentally ticking through and tossing aside options as he launched into action. He thought about calling over on the phone to warn TK, but dismissed that notion right away; it would serve to warn Sonya as well, and tip the villainess off that she'd been found out...not to mention probably creating a distraction for TK while she answered the call. One of which Deck had no doubt the honor-less white tigress would take full advantage. No, it would be better to sneak over there himself and give Sonya a surprise of her own. There just wasn't time to give TK a warning, and Deck would only have to hope that she could handle herself long enough for him to get there to help.

Nor was there time to stop for much else, the hustling hero simply removing his pistol and a clip from their drawers and checking them with automatic habit as he snuck out his front door and across the street. He was in such a hurry, so keyed-up and worried for TK's safety, that he didn't even bother with his shoes. Ramming the clip home with a soft click and working the slider, he shifted into "professional mode", senses going sharp and muscles tensing in readiness for action. Moving with great stealth, he circled around the side of TK's still and silent house and made his way toward the back door...

Finding that door unlocked, Deck quietly opened it and slipped through into the house's rear "foyer" area. His ears flicked around warily, trying to pick up any sound that would give him a clue as to where the house's presumed two occupants were, and what might be happening. That those light-brown-furred ears found only silence was more than a little unsettling. There was a heavy, dense blanket of tension hanging in the air of the too-quiet house...leaving Deck feeling as if he were the one intruding here... Like violating the sanctity of a tomb.

Something was very, very wrong, of that Deck was sure, and his worry took on a sharp edge that made him pick up his pace a bit. Skillful as Sonya was, if the villainess had ambushed TK the ever-spirited tiger-girl would have fought back, and the two of them would doubtless be raising some sort of ruckus right then. So why was it so quiet? Had he gotten there before Sonya had launched her attack? Or, had she done so already...and in some sudden and violent way which had left TK no time to resist? Or, in no condition to resist; disabled...or worse?

With that fearful thought pounding through his head, Deck gripped his pistol more firmly and padded onward through the too-silent, too-still house...seeking his endangered friend, or her hunter. Praying with all his heart, that all was still well...

On to "Two For Trouble..." part 2

================
This is the first of a three-part mini-series I did for my good friend WatchThis117 , as a "get well" for him following his ACL surgery last week. That would be his cougar character, "Deck" up there... He's spinning out a very cool tale involving the character - and TK...among others ^^ - over on his gallery, so go take a look if you get a chance. Don't think you'll be disappointed.

Thanks! ^^

And Deck is an OC created by (and owned by) WatchThis117 . Deck is his "main" character...and a SUPER cool one, if I do say so. He's the star (along with TK) of an extremely cool story WatchThis has been writing, which begins here: [link]

He was kind enough to let me take a crack at doing Deck in 3D, and has given me permission to use Deck in my works. So, Deck is now considered part of "TK's world", and will be popping up from time-to-time in her stories, and in some of his own, in the same "world setting".

Thanks, man. I'm still incredibly flattered (and happy) that you liked how Deck came out in 3D. ^^ And I'm glad you enjoyed the story; hope I did him justice with my portrayal of him (and didn't sell him short, having him be ambushed the way he was. ). You've made Deck such a living, breathing character that I really found him fun to work with. Just hope I got him right in the writing.

Anyway, thank YOU for asking that this be shared with everybody. And ya don't owe me a thing, brother. ^_^

I'm glad you think so highly of Deck ^^
