Last night, I made this new ghost train OC called the Ghost of the Eclipse or the Eclipse Ghost as she was the unfortunate victim of losing her sight to a total solar eclipse.

She was a Santa Fe 2-8-2 Mikado numbered 3134 and on October 21st, 1930, #3134 looked up at the total solar eclipse that occured that day and her eyes started to burn and she freaked out trying to stop the pain. She ran out of control, screaming in pain before she crashed. Her crew survived but she wasn't as lucky.

Long after that, every time a total solar eclipse happened, the ghost of 3134 would appear even there wasn't an eclipse happening. But if you happen to see her, one would notice the charred, burned skin around her eyes and that she has no pupils in her eyes for they are scars of her big mistake of staring at a solar eclipse with no eye protection.

And whenever you know she's near, you could hear her screaming like a banshee in pain and that her eyes are burning.

Should one encounter the Ghost of the Eclipse, they will see her ghastly eyes which will later on cause the victim to see hallucinating imagery of her face, especially her eyes. But in some cases, most victims were able to purge their mind of the ghostly image with others not being as lucky.

The ghost kept appearing until when the total solar eclipse of February 16th, 1980 occurred but the Ghost of the Eclipse failed to appear. Many thought that she finally healed from her pain and moved on. But, come the total solar eclipse of August 21st, 2017, she suddenly appeared again after a long absence which meant to those who thought she moved on realized she haunts the rails as a reminder to engines to keep their eyes protected during a solar eclipse or else, they'll end up like her, burned skin around the eyes and permanent blindness.
