Han asked you: Dale: I’m curious. What is that compelled you towards getting tangled up with Paski? Were you a space-born baby, an Earth import, or something else? Do you remember what meeting your ‘first’ Paski was really like?

Dale: I was born on a frontier colony at the edge of EC [Earth Coalition] space. In addition to the standard terraforming, we did a lot of mining for precious minerals. My first experience with paski wasn’t a good one—when I was 20 the paski gang, Raaja, invaded, presumably for our mines and because we were far enough out of the way that people wouldn’t be inclined to investigate. Another gang, this one called Blood Letter, followed soon after, and my colony found itself in the middle of a gang war.

The first paski I ever saw slaughtered about half our population and made several of our domes unlivable. I… didn’t like them much after that. When I met Kayahan, which was some time later, he was undercover as a Blood Letter member to get someone in Raaja, but I didn’t know that. As far as I was concerned he was just another alien. I caught him snooping around somewhere he shouldn’t have been and, ah, threatened him at gunpoint. He hasn’t really let me forget that either…

I will never be a webcomic artist. I have great respect for the amount of patience required to churn out high-quality pages week after week.

I will probably rework the gas masks later. Kayahan's keeping his palms pointed away from Dale out of politeness. Pointing them towards someone is like flipping the bird, and is a nonverbal way of saying he's thinking of attacking. Don't flip off the guy with the gun.

By the end of the year these two are super-close bros.
