That is why priests use that color,and in old times it was very special and expensive to get it extracted -if I'm not wrong- from some musles and instead of fadeing with time it stayed strong and mesmerizing to keep atention of believers...

Yes it is a spiritual color, i didn't know that the colors are so strong that they last a long time.
But i guess it makes sense, because magenta is a very deep color.

Well it was this perticulair color extracted from that shells,available only for very rich people like priests,and that was adding to the ilusion of the "miracle" that they where trying to fool people with...hehe!
