Fantastic idea.
Minor constructive critique:
The wing placement is such that when you see it thumbnail size the horse's head looks like its missing. At first I thought "headless Pegasus, that's a new and unusual take on it!" it wasn't til I pulled it up full size that I realized the neck, head and wing are all competing for the same space.
If you adjusted the wings back just a little (so they attach to the horse at the withers and not at the neck), it will give you more room to play with the shapes/lines of the horse as well as the wings.

I love the color scheme, I am a blue roan girl dyed in the wool so its definitely my kind of picture. I think the color of the wings is also part of how the two seem to blend together. Anyway its definitely a cool piece, it gave me an interesting idea (headless pegasus) which should be fun to try to figure out how to sketch!
