At my school every year in art we make duck stamps and submit them into the Delaware Junior Duck Stamp Competition. I've won first place 2 years in a row in my class(gosh I hope that doesn't sound show-offy o:> its not the top-top place, just for my grade in the state) , the first year I did a Wood Duck, and last year I did a Harlequin Duck couple. I'll upload those for you if you want to see them. This year I've decided to do an American Wigeon.

This is the rough draft, we had to do a practice version of our pictures this year because were doing them in Water Color, which I was pretty nervous about to begin with but think I've gotten okay at it so I'm starting to get more confident. Though, using water color is way more difficult than I originally anticipated D: The last ones I did were done with color pencils which I am far more experienced with.

I think this rough draft came out pretty good considering the fact that it is a rough draft, and that the paper I did it on was HORRIBLE. Nasty cheap sketch paper that rips and crinkles when even the littlest bit of water or paint is put on it >.< SO hard to work with! Thats why the picture looks funny and the colors are messed up. Thankfully, the final version will be on actual water color paper so it will be about 100x as good as this on

Refs for the duck and the background found on google (teachers orders, don't blame me) so I will credit to them when the final is finished.

I will probably scrap this later.
