Well, I'm thinking about animating the Guardians of Ga'Hoole series...what do you guys think? I'm an amateur at animating but I'm a fast learner and have been considering doing this for a while.
It would have one episode per chapter, so about 27 or more episodes per book (I'm only focusing on the first book right now though, lets not get ahead of our selves X3), and If I continue with it, exactly 15 'seasons', one per book. Yikes. But It should be fun and make could practice.
And that doesn't mean I've dropped my comic either, mind you, thats still my main 'project', and I'm so close to picking it back up again I can taste it...its wild cherry flavored.
Mkay, haha, so there's a badly drawn unfinished picture of a barn owl near the end because the file had an error for some reason and wouldn't let me continue working on it, it wouldn't open for me, but luckly I had this file. I started another new one to finish, I'll upload that after I'm done with this.
This obviously shows Soren and his sibs, Eglintine and Kludd. The picture of them together is supposed to be how they'll look in the begining, like before Soren is pushed from the nest. Any suggestions please???
All drawn in sloppily flash since I will (hopefully) be animating this with flash. I won't be using voices, but I will be using music, and maybe even some owl vocals if I am able, I'm still not that good with adding sound to animations.
Any critique, suggestions, tips, or tricks concerning the designs or flash 100% welcome!

Are you animating it with flash? if your an amatuer, I don't suggest flash as being your starter program(from what I've heard, it's kindof difficult) I'm more of a paint and WMM kind of person, though(I would like flash)

I've tried using paint and WMM, but it was difficult for me, and I didn't know all of the different ways you could do it, I'm more familiar with flash now. Its a lot of fun

It was hard for me to use Windows Movie maker at first, but after 4 years I'm finally getting good at it... Yes, it took me a while to use that program(and I still wish I had flash cause it looks epic) ^^

Haha, I can use it, but I'm not good at animating with it xP I tried once, but then I gave up haha. Flash has come much easier for me (Its a really fun program, you can ever get it you should!)

That sucks D: I got my Flash from my brother for free, I think he got his Flash from school off of one of the school's computers haha xD

i'd love to see this happen. it looks epic.
also, i have a suggestion about sound: sound effects would be really cool. things like soft whooshing to symbolize close-up wingbeats, etc. those kinds of things.

I plan on adding sound effects like that if I can find some free ones online, I agree it would make it a lot better. I already have some free music I'm going to use

If you want to make it good do these things :Study owls, how they fly, and draw draw lots. Cause animation requires that.

I wish you the best of luck then if you go on with this. sometimes people can't fulfil their promises or they start doing little and littler with what they promised or tried to do cause they get tired of it. Yet i'm sure it'll look great.

I started reading the book on friday and im in love with it!!! Plz think of animating it! Oh, and did you know that the movie is coming out in September 2010? When i heard, i freaked out! The trailer is on youtube. Nice work on this!
