Description I got a tattoo!

My first tattoo!

How did that happen? Well, my friend Mary (a wonderful, wonderful friend!) wanted to go get one. For a while, she had been talking about it, and she finally had spare cash. She already had one from some time ago, and felt it was time for another. Well, another friend of ours named Amy already had three, and she wanted another one, too. One that went with her theme and represented her new baby girl.

They asked me if I wanted to go because they knew I was into body art, so I got to ride along. Here, I was thinking I was just going to watch them get theirs done because I didn't have the cash, but once we stepped in the door, the fever hit me. I went along all the walls, and I was getting price ideas for when I COULD get one. At this point, I wanted one so bad. I told Mary - "It's too bad that cupon you have isn't a two-for-one deal."

I saw a tiny spider that was $30. That was about the cheapest one I could find, and I thought - hey, that would look pretty cool on my boob. I was really thinking of getting it, and Mary said "If you really want one, I could spot you the cash. You could pay me back later, if it doesn't cost too much." I felt guilty at first, but how many times would I be in a tattoo place with someone offering to pay for one on the spot?

I looked at all the designs, wanting to find a tripple goddess symbol. I was thinking - maybe I could find a small one that's only $30, too? To my dismay, there weren't any... But after analyzing the designs and how they priced them, I drew the symbol and asked the guy how much he thought it would cost. He said it would be about $30 to $40, and I said "Hey, if it's only $30, I'll get it." And got it, I did.

Everyone was telling me that the back of the neck was the wrong choice only because it would hurt like hell. However, ever since I was younger, I wanted the tripple goddess symbol on the back of my neck. So I got it! I finally got it. I'm thrilled. Yay!

At first, it didn't hurt too bad. They made me think the worst, but I told them I was pretty sure I could handle it. After all, I was the girl who pierced her own nose. Twice! So the guy is working on it, and it's going well. Then he starts digging at it to color it in a bit, and that's when I started wincing. But then he got to one of the crescent shapes, and it just sent tingles all over. (I have a thing about people touching my neck in a paticular way that gives me that special tingly feeling.)

Eventually the guy was done, and everyone said I took it wonderfully for my first tattoo.

And here it is! It's still a little red, but it's still pretty fresh.

Enjoy!

It's beautiful! I've been looking for one just like this, where the half-moons are like this, and not thin slivers. It's perfect

Thank you! I'm really, REALLY happy about it!

It's doing good so far. It's still a little red, but it's only tender when my shirts brush up against it. I try to keep them down, but my work vest is a little bit harder to keep down.

What's cool is that when I put the ointment on it, I can feel how it's raised up a bit. I know that won't stay once it settles down, but for the time being, it's interesting.

A LOT of people thought it was too plain and said "Aren't you going to get it filled in?" but I just want the symbol. I didn't want it to be colored in or anything. That ruins it for me and spoils the simple humble nature of the symbol. And besides, if I get tired of it later on, I can always fill it in later.

Thanks again!
