Description
This one was extremely hard to execute properly. The effect on the manga panel was difficult to replicate. Instead of white, I used a fractal cloud effect behind the white around Ikki which I thought would suit him better, being the Sky King. The effect was made by using this image static.freepik.com/free-photo/… , using brightness and contrast to pull it down to black and white ONLY, then deleting all the black pixels. The black pixels were replaced with a black-to-transparent gradient which fades off at the bottom. Afterward, I deleted all of the white pixels, then added a heavy motion blur. Once the overlay image was completed, I cut the black, white, and skin sections seperatly out of the blurred layer, inverted the color to match, then deleted the overlay solid lines and color, which gave this effect. Try it for yourself. Also, the part of his face showing has the same color effect as the rest of his skin, the motion blur layer however was too white over that particular area, and almost none of the color picked up.
