You know, Rumiko once said that Lum represents her unhibited alter ego. More I think of it, she does represents Rumiko herself and thus become main female character model for her works: Akane of Ranma 1/2 for known for worse cooking and quick to anger just like Lum and Kagome who is a girl from another time just like Lum from another planet. It's kinda weird that they all have one thing in common that they all fall in love with guys who are in love them in secret.
