*dies*Kaysooooooo..... this is my first time using my tablet (well, first time I've done anything with it but screw around and get pissed off at it), first time doing a digital painting or drawing or whatever.... ummm.... yeah. It took weeks. It was really hard. I loved it.
I'm not really happy with the pic, but oh well. It was just practice, I guess. *shrug*
I think I went a bit overboard when I had the 'ZOMG SKIN HAS LOTS OF STRANGE COLORS IN IT' realization, so it looks weird because theres so many strange colors. I really should have just picked a pallet and gone with it, but I failed really hard at that. XD Plus the lighting in the reference was really odd. It was like a bad Myspace pic.
The shirt is the result of utter laziness. And frustration at my inability to paint folds. I like it, though.
In case you were wondering it's Frank Iero, guitarist from My Chemical Romance. No, I can't do anything non-mcr related anymore.

Except photoshop is being stupid right now and not keeping my brush settings, but I guess that doesn't matter so much for your type of drawing.

I see there some random colors, don't use disolved colors because they never look pretty if you want the pic to look detailed and smooth. dont worry about the textures as you just begun the journey with digital painting. i suggest playing with opacity and flow of the color, its really handy when you want to make a smooth glide from one color to another. if you have any questions i'd be more than happy to help.

I suggest either using the smudge tool, or using the as softer brush ad a lower opacity

Aww... This pic is even more adorable than the photo. You probably should have blended the bottom lip into his face the way you did the top one, but I like the way his shirt is flat. It makes his face pop. The skin also looks really good and his eyes are quite dreamy : )

This is amazing! The colours in the skin work really well and make it much more realistic, and love the shading on the neck aswell. I think maybe the hair needs a little more detail, but overall it's aweosme! Love it!!!

This is really good! I found it on and had to come comment it! I love the eyes, although im a writer and suck at everything else, i've heard its really hard to do eyes and make them look real, and you did a great job of it!
