I just wanna say thank you to everyone that +favs this, but really I don't see what you all see in it. Albeit not the worst image in my gallery, it is certainly not the best. Not to me at least

Bizzare, but I really like it!

This is really cool, AND it would prove as a good anatomy reference for centaurs.

My only issue with this picture is that if you think about it, centaurs would need more bones where the human spine meets the horse body to add a little more support. ^^

....If you actually understood that. I have a tendency to make things confusing. <<;

Well, wonderful picture anyway!

I was just thinking that. This picture helps explain why they're not real.

cool, but why does it needs two rib cages, and probably then, two sets of lungs?

not really a comment about your picture...more just curiosity about centaurs in general...

x0negativezero0x In reply to sora-kara [2008-07-04 05:15:57 +0000 UTC]

well think of it this way, without the two rib cages, one of the halves of the body wouldn't hold properly

i dunno...it could have a completely different anatomy from people and horses.

does it also have two hearts?

im sorry, i dont mean to take away from your picture there, it is really neat, and very nicely done.
it just has me thinking....

well in terms of skeletal structure, it would have to look exactly like a human and horse to have the build that it does. it's not a design of internal organs, only the structure that keeps it together.

I think it's because it's explains a bit more about their anatomy is the reason why we fave this soo dang much, but i don't blame it on them!

hehehe I bet the amount of vertebrae on this guys must be extremly weird XD guess their formula must be:
cervical: 7
thorasic 30
Lumbar: 10
sacral: 5
caudal: 17-21

( c7 Th30 L10 S5 Ca17-21) woah! that's a crazy amount of vertebrae XD they're around 69 or more! depending on the length of the tail

That's cool yet so weird to see 2 rib cages. I knew it looked like that but never really thought about it.

Centaurs by their very nature seem like they would have major back problems.

First thing I notice: IT HAS TWO RIB CAGES! O_o
LOL, how do their bodies work? what goes where?
Lovely, by the way. *grins* I'd love to see the one who stepped behind the X-ray machine.

heh, I stumbled across this because I started drawing a skeletal centaur and I wanted to see if anyone else had ^.^
It's good because it's simple and not too complicated. Simple is usually better in most cases (or so everyone tells us at school). The way you merged them together does look fairly like a real x-ray

it's a kind of a one-picture tutorial

the reason why its so good, is because it's so proportional and looks like a real x ray. well done

AncestralSpirit In reply to ??? [2007-07-27 13:04:28 +0000 UTC]

i find it kinda creepy that the skeletal structure of a centaur would actually work.
The horse body is very powerful and is heavy enough to steady the human half.
The tail would keep it balanced.
Very well done awesome work.

Hah, thank you. I don't understand the draw of this picture.. it was fairly simple, aside from the making it look natural, and even that pretty much happened on its own.

I think that they would scratch their butts like animals do--use a tree.

Not picking up the tree, obviously, but still.
