I took this photo by wiggling my finger above the water. This drove him nuts, and he tried to swim frantically OUT of the pond just to bite it. You can even see the bubbles from his desperate attempt to be airborne.Related content

Wow....this reminds me SO MUCH of my cottage. I see painted turtles there all the time. Although never this close that I could snap a photo. Well....they're in a lake, so it's slightly more difficult....haha. So I had to favourite this, not just because it's a remarkable photo, but because of the memories it brings back...

I know what you mean! I have some cottages up north, and we see these all the time. However, this guy was HUGE. He has all that moss on his back and stuff. So cute. ^^
