Description
This was supposed to be for a contest, but the rules to join the group didn't....work well for me.When I was little my parents made me switch hands so that I was a "righty" and so that's what I thought for the longest time. At one point I'd also came out as bisexual and am genderfluid which is where the lgbt part of this drawing comes in with the ribbon. My right hand is traced instead of my left because that's the hand you trace as a lefty. I'd also thought I am dyslexic, until the other day. I found out that when a left-handed child is made to use their right hand that has the same effects as someone with dyslexia. This is because the right side of your brain is so Socratic and creative that making it switch its functions to use the left side which is more organized and structured causes problems with letter and spelling.
The words at the bottom are things I've been called for both of these things which my parents hate. I have now started using my left hand fully and my spelling has been no problem.
Also, I added scars on the arm because I used to cut horribly bad mainly due to the criticism I'd gotten.

I always had an extremely mixed laterality. Since birth. And I have autism (I don't have dyslexia, luckily). That's just how my brain works.
I used to draw and write right handed.
I switched easily to ambidexterity about 5 years ago and since then I improved drawing coordination and handwriting in both hands.

I only have problems spelling when I use my right hand more often. And if you don't mind me asking, where are you at on the spectrum? Not necessarily functioning wise but more along the lines of Aspergers and things like that

About the spectrum I never really cared where I am, so I don't know, apart from functioning.

Thank you so much! It's alright. When I'm drawing I switch off sometimes now because I feel like I don't have as much control with my left and need to fix the drawing.

I was dyslexic because I wasn't able to decide which hand of mine could take control. I still have some problems with this, but I learnt how to live with being ambidextrous. And now I only have some minor problems, gladly. The funny part is that me too, I'm bisexual, maybe there's a connection between the two things...?
I'm sad to hear though that there were/are/ people who mistreat you because of these things! That's just so unfair. I hope you can overcome this will not start cutting yourself again.

See, I thought I was ambidextrous, but that's where I make 98% of my grammatical errors so I'm just completely switching back to a lefty because that's how it was supposed to be anyway. I actually read that being ambidextrous can cause you to be dyslexic. Maybe there is
I know it's unfair, bit things will be okay and I won't start cutting again because of the people in my life especially the one. And thank you for the favorite

That sounds logic. I'm sorry that you was forced to use your right hand, it's horrible to do that. ><
But I'm glad you found love and feel better now. You're welcome.

I had a friend who was a lefty, and she had to switch her hands. I don't find it right that, as humans, we fear what isn't "normal." I don't see why using a different hand would make you a "devil child." I am very sorry for what you had to go through, and I wish you the best future as a proud lefty. c:

Yeah I'm not sure either. I know the church we go to there are some things we aren't allowed to do with our left hands but I don't believe what they teach I go because I have to. And thank you! I'm still at home and get in trouble for it; however, I find it worth every bit because it's more comfortable.
