Description Are any of you familiar with the animation program Source Film Maker?  For those who don’t know, Source Film Maker (SFM) is a professional animating program that is used to make 3D animations (a lot for Team Fortress 2).  And the best part is, the program is free for the public to use!  SFM is something I’d like to learn how to use, however because of my busy schedule right now I don’t have the time to learn it (maybe when I’m at SJSU I’ll learn how to use it.  I dunno…).  In the meantime, I can at least get some ideas out for possible animations.

After watching a number of SFM animations, I got the sudden motivation to make one of my own, (don’t know if it’ll ever become a decent animation though, I’ll just have to wait and see what the future holds for me).  The inspiration for the story actually came from an episode of Star Trek Voyager.  I don’t know if any of you have seen that series, and I forgot which number episode it is in the series, but it came from the episode when Captain Janeway describes one of her wartime experiences.  With Janeway’s war experience, her commanding officer sent some of their troops to help a wounded enemy.  They gave him medical treatment and sent him on his way.  At least that’s what I remember.  I’ll have to rewatch that episode…

Anyway, that gave me some inspiration to do something similar with TF2.  It would involve the BLU Medic and the RED Demoman, and both would get trapped in the same place due to a cave in.  It’s also the aftermath of the battle between RED and BLU, so there wouldn’t be much action involved (unless I decide to include flashbacks…).  The BLU Medic doesn’t get injured that badly, but the RED Demoman gets severely injured on his arm (and I think both of them would lose their weapons in the cave in, I dunno).  Rather than just leave him there to writhe in agony, the BLU Medic decides to give the RED Demoman some medical attention.

And that’s what I’ve come up with so far.  I like where the idea is going, so I’ll keep rolling with it and see what happens.  Lemme know what you guys think, if this could potentially be a good short story or not.

I've seen quite a few SFM animations myself, the results are always impressive  Neat concept and story to go with it here, I'm interested to see where this goes.  I haven't seen that ep of Voyager...I really need to up my Trekkie status here.  :C

Thank ya!
I'm already working on a few other sketches to go along with this idea. Though sketches are probably the only thing I can do for this idea for now since I don't have time to learn SFM (plus it's a HUGE program ).

Coolio! Though I'll have to make sure I have a computer that can handle SFM. It's a HUGE program. <_<

Animating is fun, but it requires sooooo much patience.  <.<  I’d like to try it, but I’ll have to wait until I have the time to.

And I have, ….lost count on how many times I’ve rewatched Voyager.  It’s my favorite Star Trek series.

I do SFM work and I'd love to take this piece of work once I get my new computer soon. Obviously all rights would go to you. But apart from that I'm loving the drawings haha

WAH really?  Ooooooh aweshum!!

I really wasn’t expecting this idea to get animated so soon though (or getting animated at all! XD ).  The idea is still fresh in my mind, and I’d like a bit more time to get the ideas out. Plus I wanted to wait and see if I could get an SFM team together, because I’ve noticed a lot of good SFMs are created with teamwork.

I’d like this to get animated eventually, but probably not anytime soon.  I’ll need more time to develop this idea n’ stuff, but thank you so much for the offer!    I’ll definitely consider it, since I know squat about SFM.
Btw, do you have a Youtube account?  I’d like to give a watch to some of your SFMs if possible.

I don't have many projects at the moment. I'm more of a freelancing sfmer I shall experiment with the idea when I get my new computer and I appreciate you putting your time into that lovely reply of yours. It would be fascinating to see a little animation/GIF of this idea and I would love to hand over my knowledge of SFM to anyone who needs it. Just contact me if you ever need something

Alrighty!  I greatly appreciate your offer, and I'll let you know when I've uploaded more sketches to go along with this idea.
I would've gotten them done sooner, but I've needed to take a bit of a break from my 31 Days of Uploading.

I’d love to do it too!  Buut, yeah it requires time and patience and wraaaaaaargh
And also, I’ll need to get a decent computer.  All the computers in my house can’t handle SFM.  DX
