I was just trying to trim the back of my hair today, and ended up with almost nothing there.So, seeing as I'd have to wear a hat for a month anyway, I just shaved everything off..
I'm bald.
Some people will think Iām a neo-Nazi or that I have cancer or Iām a lesbian.
Let them think what they will.

I shaved my head last summer because I always wanted to. I too was afraid of the stares I knew I'd get and the judgemental comments, but I knew I couldn't stop myself because of what other people would say or think. And it turns out the people who thought I was weird or crazy just didn't say much and stayed away and I got comments all the time, but positive ones. I had one 40something dude at the mall tell me he thought I was very brave &that I looked great being myself. Random people on the street stopped me all the time to tell me that they admired my confidence& that they loved my bald head. While I wasn't looking for anyone to compliment me and I'd prefer people to see that I'm not TRYING to be different& just let me be me, but I've got to appreciate when people go out of their way to be nice. I hope you got similar reactions to your lovely shaved head because you look absolutely stunning. Makes me want to shave mine off again.

I may be doing this as well, and its nice to see someone else who can do it too. I'm planning on shaving my hair off sometime this spring, and its basically for what the first two comments on this picture said. You (two) put my thoughts on the whole deal into words.

There is something about the lack of hair that makes you so beautiful. Women in general value to their hair so much - it's something that defines them. So this lack of it seems like you aren't scared to go around with something as trivial as hair defining you.

That makes a lot of sense. I was thinking about that as I was doing it - I was really looking forward to experiencing life outside of the confinements of standard female beauty. Hair is extremely trivial and I am hoping to learn more about myself through this. Thank you so much for commenting.
