In my opinion the way the textures are overlayed over the image looks messy, I've made the exact same mistake a few times before myself xDΒ 
Here's some examples from my own gallery of how it's not done

Work on the way you overlay the textures, one thing that almost always turns out well is to only overlay it over certain areas of the image. Such as the mane or even just the eyes or cutie mark.
Overall does look quite good, and to say it's your first attempt it's very good for a first attempt.
