Description Hey again!
Been too long since I posted anything, unfortunately my laptop died on me in a big way and its only just been fixed.
On the bright side, now my tablet works ALL the time not just when it feels like it!
This one just kinda evolved, mountain explorers investigating the anomaly 'rift'.
I may do a comparison on this one, as it was partly inspired by my 'ruins of hearthstead' piece- I wanted to see how far I'd progressed in the last year!
Please let me know what you think! Thanks

Cool man, definite improvement. I'd say go less heavy with the lighting effects and fog. Subtle value shifts are better than blatant ones more often than not. The figures are a little bit cloney and probably could be separated or shrunk a biit to give a grander scale and make them less of a focus.

Thanks! Good to hear Yeah? Ok, was struggling dividing the layers, any other techniques you reccomend for doing that? I was thinking using colour shifts to push them back or maybe lighting, but nothing worked for me  I definitely agree though, mine often come out too foggy and then dont read well.
And yep, im not so good with figures (which i need to work on) so essentially a quick lasso job, good points thanks.
got one or two more to do and then I'm sending over a portfolio to FZD! Fingers crossed..

Well, it seems all your layers have very similar contrast and value Which might be why you struggled. Some colour shift and more importantly, less contrast as you go back would help. Then you could use fog and the brighter snow to do the rest. It doesn't look too bad the way you did it, just you used a hammer instead of a finger to tap away at it Which makes the lighting look a bit forced and unnatural.
Good luck with your application!

Aaah ok. Always a struggle making a focal point with less contrast I find, which Is probably why i blow it up like that. Will have to work on it, thanks for the crit.
If you ever have time for a paintover I'd be all ears! No worries if ya busy though
cheers!
