This is a beautiful game, and the character development is amazing!

I haven't gotten to play it near as much as I would like, but for all it's differences I'm quite enjoying it so far. It really is a beautiful and well presented game.

Indeed it is, the effort they've put in to bringing the game up to modern standards and developing the characters is most impressive. The way they've done this while keeping the unique aspects of the original is excellent. To be fair, several elements in Gaiden did appear later in the series, so it's an important title.

Yeah they did a great job, way better re-imagining than Shadow Dragon was. The characters are some of the more likeable in a long while too.

Shadow Dragon was more a port than a re-make, really. They learned with New Mystery of the Emblem, but that never made it out of Japan.
